Nokia 5730 Memory: Ants, Tree, Sky and The Decision

If they try to rush me, I tell them I've only got one other speed, and that's slower, Taurean Glenn Ford
Here is a new tradition of my post every now and then to include a quote. One fine day, I dug up an old exercise book from my secondary school/ high school days. It was truly inspiring as I opened the book and found meaningful phrase/ quote that I either copied from the newspaper or from the internet. My state of mind was instantly rejuvenated, seeing that myself was once a determined individual. I copied about 300++ in my book!  I would like to share out my might to keep living on (^^)

Anyway, let me talk on the phone 1st. Nokia 5730 of 3.2 megapixel phone was a phone I won 4 years ago! Yup, my slogan actually won a grand prize in a online contest. It was valued at about RM 1300++ as it was just released not long ago. The specs of the phone that time was more than impressive; not only it has a qwerty keyboard (hidden), it is also an internet phone. This meant a lot to me as it was my 1st smartphone!!!!!!! I also just want to say that Nokia's Carl Zeiss's lense is truly awesome.

Right now, I rarely uses Nokia 5730 to take photos eversince I change my phone to Nexus 4 which is a touchscreen smartphone. Therefore, as a memory of Nokia 5730 serves me, I shall share the photos as a walk down on memory lane. (Long-winded post indeed)

The Ants, Tree and Sky was taken at my university - University of Nottingham Malaysia. Those ants were the ferocious red ants; once bitten, it would definitely hurt. I was so surprised that my Nokia 5730 had the capability to take this kind of images even though it is slightly blurry and low resolution.

Oh, by the way, if you follow my last last last post, I was so anxious of The Decision. Yup, after venturing into an amazing Oil and Gas Consultation company for roughly a year, I decided to further my studies as a Ph.D student in Chemical Engineering Field back to my university!!!! Yes, you hear me right! It was a mixed feeling - happy, anxiety, worry, determined, doubt, ........ huge mix-pot. But, I had grounded my thought and in this future 3 years, I will walk into the Ivory Tower once again for one last time (maybe)!

The consultation job was tough and challenging with steep learning curve. However, I was getting a hang of it and it soon became a huge part of my life. I was so glad that I had this amazing year of experience with capable people and reputable company. It moulded me into a more confident person and taught me never hide away from challenges.

Some people argued that my job was quite excellent since it was mainly in Oil & Gas field and consultation. It would be loss if I just gave up like that. Plus, Oil & Gas is all about experience. True enough, perhaps my 3 years of studies would not be able to make up the 3 years of experience in any field. I just want to say that life is more than taking a risk; it is more like grabbing an opportunities. When it knocks, I just have to grab it. My lovely supervisor offers me a full sponsorship as a investment to my interest. This is an opportunity that I would'not want to let go.

Another reason is that after a couple years of working, I believe that it would be difficult to go back to study life. So, I just want to sekaligus use this amazing chance and develop into a more technically-competent person that ever. So, that's all I want to say! Wish me luck pleaseeeeeee (^^)

Let the 3 year journey begins!

New Direction of Life - New Insect

Wow, I have been missing in action for almost 2 months. There are just too much going on in my life right now. I have made a crazy bold decision! Yes, a decision seems to be me, is a risk worth taking. So many dilemma arising from my decision right now. Well, will definitely update you all about the "DECISION" soon enough.

Anyway, I am back to my old (weird) habit - taking insects' photos (^^). They are still fascinating as regardless of their lifespan, they keep on surviving beautifully. Perhaps, this is how life should be. No matter how unfortunate you all, just live your life with integrity.

These few days, I have been resting that much. It had been such a long time since I am that relaxed. Isn't that great if life is like this every day!!! Hahaha. Another portrait of the creepy-crawler (^^)~

Spider's Eyes

Sometimes, regardless of how many pair of eyes you have, you most probably have a blind spot. No one is perfect. Taken from Nokia 5730 Express Music! (^^)

Happy Chinese New Year (^^)

The Camouflage

This photo, I can't remember when I took it! Was it that long ago? Anyway, with a flash, I had been working   for almost 4 months!!! Yes, it sounds so impossible. Apparently, working life is a lot faster than studying. Anyhow, back to the photo, it seems like the body of the bug was leaf-like! Maybe, now and then,  we would not notice that it was hiding on the trees/ flowers/ leaves pile.....The Art of Camouflage. (^^)

Insectology: The Lover Flies (18 SX)

Photobucket
Ah, totally need a zen moment. Anyhow, just walking around my little garden, suddenly, I saw those two flies (lover) were hanging around; practically hanging there. Well, I think they are starting a family.
The main point is that we often neglect what is around us. Just spend a little time observing and relaxing, indeed you will see something you usually wouldn't see...

Hahahahahaa~~~~

Insectology: The Majestic Moth

Since a long time ago, I have a crush (not like killing them, but really love them) on insects. Despite their short lifespan, they are one of the strongest species in the world - super strong reproductive system which produces thousand of eggs; unique body parts - extra limbs; captivating colour like the moth above.

My university located in the center of a palm oil plantation. I believe this is one of the moth that can be found here? I need an expert here~ Because, this rare beauty is really out of sight in where I come from - Ipoh. Therefore, my fascinations towards this creature was utterly strong. Looking at its wings, the colourful pattern really attracted me (^^)

Photobucket
Having a closer look, you might even feel eerie (as for me, I am still fascinated) because it has fur like dogs @@ ~ No kidding!!!! The most interesting part is the leaf-like antenna. Omg !!!!! Yes, totally amazing how mother nature really is (^^)

Tata for now! Hope you enjoy this Majestic Moth Beauty. You can always look for my other insectology posts under the label insectology....

Holding On Like A Grasshopper

Life wasn't fair to me for a long time. When I was so young, I worked very hard, I did for a period. Then, working so hard didn't take me where I wanted to go. I gave up! But, a little incident sparked my life again when I was 17-year-old. I ended my secondary school gloriously. But, again, life wasn't fair to me; I gave up again !

Until on finding the next path, my combat energy was revived to 100%. I kicked some serious a**! But, it did bring to a location which I thought it was ideal. However, it turned out to be a hellish abyss. As my fighting life is fading as years gone by, an awakening moment arose abruptly. I really slaughtered through ~ Yes, I won an unexpected war. Finally, the war ended magnificently; I thought I could finally pack my stuffs and go back to where I come from. Another huge bump suddenly showed up, blocking the ray of hope.

It was not a good decision; but I made it. Now, I have to bear the consequences. Sound serious?! Yes, it is. But, I believe life is not fair. You win some, you lose some. To me, my true dreams are yet to be realised. Until today, the choices I made really didn't please me; but, they took me far and high. I hope to speak out everything in words; but, I decided not to because it is still not time yet. ~

Anyhow, life goes on! I could win a war back then; I can and will definitely win again! My grip will be stronger than any grasshopper on the planet!

The Return from Sabah

Photobucket

After an eventful awesome 5 days 4 nights trip to Sabah, I am ultra-exhausted. While tripping, I was required to handle the graduation matters. It was truly challenging; but, thank goodness with my friends' data plan, I was able to survive..Hahahah, the road trip, the accommodation, the plans... were memorable!

Will blog more details soon! Now, just look at the insects hatching at the window's panel was interesting (^^). Anyhow, 2moro is another big day for me to take my graduation photos, need to do facial and sleep early..(^^) Tata for now ~~~

The True Wings of Freedom

Photobucket

Despite performing horribly in my final presentation (or interview), I have seen through those experiences. It is an unforgettable day indeed with non-stop bullets; yet, underneath my bullet vest, I learned a lot in which something I couldn't forsee. But, I am so glad that the 5 years journey is coming to an end.

Just like any other stages, 6 years of primary school; 5 years of secondary school, and now 5 years of university life, I think it is another time to move on~ Next stage would most probably be working life; unlike most students' mentality, graduation = jobless; I think it is a new life for me. Hopefully, I will still have the wings of freedom.

The Story of A Reptile

Photobucket
It is so common to find household lizard everywhere. Some of my friends are terrified with lizards. I think sometimes, I am also afraid of them where they unexpectedly appear. Anyhow, one day, I was cleaning up my piles of magazine. Suddenly, it just dropped out from nowhere!
I admitted: I screamed like there was no tomorrow.

Sometimes, we got startled maybe due to sudden appearance of these creatures like cockroach, rat, and etc....Anyhow, this is such a random post! Yup, another emo Sunday for me (><). These days, my mood is easily affected, I wonder why! Oh well, lastly, lizards make good models (^^)

Chinese New Year Resolution

Photobucket

Wow, I have been eating like crazy! Relatives are saying that I have gained some weights. It is time to lose those extra weights. It is not easy though with me in my final years. Oh yes, another 5 month, I will be free! But, the horrible FYP is still in my way!!!! (><) I just dug up some old photos! It has been a while since I post my fav photos on insect (Yup, I have a thing for insects@@)...Since it is CNY, this photo is so red, got the FEEL~~~Hope you all like it^^

This year, CNY, I have been a good boy cause didn't go out that much! Since everywhere is so jam, staying at home is still the best (^^). Still, my parent keeps me quite busy, going to the relatives' homes, jalan-jalan and makan-makan! Anyhow, I have seen a lot this CNY. It is quite not-a-good-feel CNY for me. Yup, I am rather moodless this year~

Oh well, my CNY resolution (since I miss my New Year Resolution), they are quite simple:
  1. Keeeeeep fittttttttttttttt, will try to lose 10 kg?
  2. Still enjoy some nice foodie around the blocks.
  3. All my friends and family are in good health.
  4. Become more leng zai? How come 18 change nvr occur to me(><)
  5. Kill my FYP, instead of letting it kills me back!
  6. Have a super rest after FYP
  7. Have a great graduation!
  8. Travel a bit because nobody to accompany me (><)
  9. Take more photos! Yes, my little FS6 is having a lot of spiders crawling on it~~~@@
  10. Live happily ever after!!!!
Ok, I know that they are not realistic! Oh well, no harm wishing! (^^) And, again, I wish everybody a prosperous year ahead (^^) It is the DRAGON `````

The Snail and The Bug - The Fight To Be The Next Top Model?

Photobucket

I love to take photos of small animals. They are constantly inspiring me in every way. Despite their beauty, they make no easy model for me. They don't understand human words nor do they pose according to my desire. Therefore, as soon as they find out that someone is taking photos of them, they will start to avoid my lens! I love the challenge! I love my pics are not perfect (Hope that I will get a new DSLR in the future (><)) Anyhow, using my beautiful compact camera, I really learn a lot. If you know how to use a tool, a simple rock can kill a fierce monster!

Anyhow, this photo was taken in my mom's garden. I spotted this little cutie snail loitering at the purple plant. Immediately, I grabbed my camera and started to take photo non-stop. However, another cute little bug invaded the scene! This cute little guy/gal just walked on the back of the cute snails!!!!~Hahaha, I guess they are fighting to pose for me? It was really a moment to remember (^^)~

The 4-Legged Creature A.K.A Monitor Lizard

I feel so much better right now. Thanks for your support my friend! I am less emo now (^^)

If you remember my previous posts on animals, you basically can guess that my house is a mini zoo. Sometimes, it also attracts some uninvited "wild" guests. For example, my Panda (German Shepherd) was killed by a Cobra... (here). Anyway, it was just another normal day when my dogs were barking crazily~

Just in an instance, my dad spotted the 4-legged creature! It was very huge! (I didn't even know the English name of this creature)..Haha, I have to admit my vocab sucks!~ Anyway, my brave dad who is always looking for adventure, decided to capture the monitor lizard himself. If for me, I will lock the door and ignore its existence. Hahaha~ look at how long it was!

Photobucket
No kidding! It was super long and we suspected that it was actually feeding on our fishes! Kesian our fish (><)~ Instead of killing it, papa decided to release it (放生). I think it is some sort of a way to redeem the sins we did intentionally and unintentionally. So, if you see any horrible abuse of animals, try to set them free! You are doing a good deed!

Photobucket
Oh yes, a close up! Its scale looks pretty right! My dad was trying to sort a number from its pattern. Haiz, how typical~ Like that also can derive number@@~~~

Photobucket
After that, we released it to the huge drain near our house. Hopefully,it will not be coming back~Did i mention that this is the 3rd monitor my dad caught? (@@)

The Poisonous Insect Bite That Costs My Nuffnang Cheque!!!!(>_<)

I rarely show photo of myself. The second time - I would never thought that I will  show my "sexy" neck with a huge insect bite! Yes, don't mistaken it as "snake" or shingles! It is a very poisonous insect bite! At first, it was like any other mosquitoes' bites. But, something odd about this bite! For the past 3 days, it evolved into a continent on my neck! Even though I love to take photos of insect, we can't be too careful with the insects at home! I think I caught it during my gardening session(><) . Even so, insects, I still love you as a model, but please stop attacking me~~~(posts of insectology)

However, this bite is super costly! Yes, because the reddish spread on my neck, my parents were super duper worry and took me to the dermatologist! This resulted a big hole in my pocket!!!!!!!~~~Why? You see below lah!:

Those medicine and remedies especially the consultation really cost a leg and a hand!!!!!!!!!! Yes, I took me 2 hours to finish everything (1 hour 30 min waiting and 30 mins to take medicine)(><) ..and the doctor just looked at my bite for 2 mins~~~Guess how much? RM130(@@)~~~~~~~FREAKING EXPENSIVE! I should now run to become a doctor instead!!!!~~~ Then, I was late for my internship for 2 hours! But, fortunately, my considerate supervisor said that it was alright!!!~~~

It took me quite long to get a cheque! Just in 2 hours, I can use it all up!!!~~~This little story tells us that beware of insects, or should I say - it is not easy to make money! So, when we use money, we must be considerate and moderate or else, you will have no money to treat those stupid insect bites!!!!!~~~Ooopz, should I say - we might not have money for rainy days!

Anyway, currently, my internship is getting better and busier, and hopefully, I will learn more! Please do support my bloggie! Really need to earn back my medical expenditure(><)~~~ Again, please ensure that your garden compound is not full of grasses as this would form a hide-out for mosquitoes and other hazardous insects!!!~~

The Metallic One

Oh my, busy during Chinese New Year! But, everything is returning to normal! Tomorrow will the day to resume my studies in my mundane university! I have yet to do any studies. Really need to catch up! Anyway, missing my Ipoh home a lot right now. During my stay in Ipoh, I had another opportunity to take photos of a sexy metallic model!

Nothing special about this year CNY, but one thing! It seemed like economy really not that good! Angpows really shrunk(><)! (Oh my, plz clicks more on my ads....). But, to me, angpows are not that important because when you grow up, eventually, you know that friends and family are more important! Anyway, wish my readers and friends have a great year of Tiger again! But, before that, let me share a lucky charm insect at my home!

insect~~

This little lucky fellow actually landed on my mom's neck! Haha, yes, the white background was my mom's shirt! Totally cool! I asked my mom not to move at all so that I could photographed this cutie!

insect~~

After that, I asked my mom to go outside to release this little fellow! It looked even better outside with the sunlight shining on its green-metallic body!~~~let's pray for a good year(^^)

insectology

"Busy" is the best word to describe my current life(><)! Well, next Monday, I will be having my biology test! Yes, chemical students have to take bio@@. I already gave back my bio knowledge back to Puan Lau.....hehe~~~~ Anyway, after the test, I will have to pass up several assignments in the next few weeks!!!!! Therefore, I have no choice to abandon my lovely green blog(><) But, as soon as I am free like my grasshopper up there, I will make this blog greener!!!!

The Journey of A Silent Beetle To The Zen Realm of Eternity

insectology

Life is busy! Seeking zen in busy life is definitely not easy! Anyway, the long title is just for fun! (^^) . Yes, my posts is getting less and less and shorter by the day! Just had my lab session today, therefore, there will be 2 deadlines for me ~~~~

Forget about my busy life! Well, with all the hectic lifestyle, I felt somewhat empty! Just like the silent beetle, I am forwarding myself to the front without deciding the true path that I want! Most of the time, we would do something with a purpose and try to achieve our goal. Oh, what if we take 1 day off and do nothing or do something out of order! Let's loosen up a little~~~^^

For me, I would like to take a day off and travel aimlessly in my area~~Of course, snapping pictures would be great because I could record down what I saw. Oh my, it would be a beautiful journey like the journey of a silent beetle to the zen realm. Yet, busy life is definitely a road block(><)....haha, sorry for the semi-emo post^^

Anyway, back to this picture of insectology, this was taken on a bamboo carpet!!!! I am really addicted to take photos of bugs!!! I am getting weirder. Why?! Because insects really make good model in term of posing! But, most of the times, it is difficult to capture it because of its sensitivity. I really like this pictures because its eyes !!!! SO nice(^^)~~~~

P.S: Wish me luck in my assignments!!! Really gotta go . sorry for the short post><~~~I am super tired now ~~~~ nitezzzzzzzzzzzzz~~~

Insectology - The Ants' Circle

insectology

Recently, I am very fascinated by insects! Not that I am very fond of them, but they really make good models! However, they are usually patient for a short period of them when modeling for me(><). With my growing interest in photographing insects, I have a new label [insectology]! Yes, I use insectology instead of entomology!!!!

For my 1st-not-so-nice piece, I named it The Ants' Circle. Just like humans, ants do have they own circles. There are working ants, army ants and etc. It really does reflect our own circles somtimes, doesn't it?!

Anyway, for the piece above, I am not very satisfied. Reasons: Too blur and unfocused! Firstly, the light in the room was too dimmed which resulted the lack of exposure for close-up photos. Secondly, the macro-focused of a compact camera was not easy to control! If it was bright enough in the room, then, the result would be delightful! Yes, in order to take clearer pics, lighting is very important. In the defense of my Lumix FS6, it really did a good job even though under the weak lighting of the room!(^^)

[Note: Pretending to be a pro><]
