“Only buy something that you’d be perfectly happy to hold if the market shut down for 10 years”, by Warren Buffett, legendary investor.
For the image above, they are the coins of United Kingdom, pound sterling. As you can see, the unique design of the coins can form a armor shield as shown in the inscription of the 1 pound sterling! Such creativity and patriotic expressions from the UK government.
Anyway, 40-year-old, seems to be quite far from me and for a lot of young people who are still striving to reach their dreams and success. I wonder where I will be in my forties. Married? Single? Or, divorced? Forever alone? Hahaha!
The coin of 1 pound sterling can be of different designs. Same goes to a group of people in their forties, they may be leading extremely different lives. Some people may be already successful in their working and personal lives, staying in expensive home, driving luxurious car and even owning several companies. While, other might be just living an average life with 9 to 5 working hours and barely survive with their monthly salary. Then, there will always be a group of people in their forties, unable to afford a living and more despair, they don't have a decent job or even a place to stay. If at this age, they lost their job, this can be a devastated situation with no proper saving scheme. In others word, just make sure we have sufficient savings for rainy days starting as young as possible regardless of our financial state. We can't predict our future but we can definitely plan for it!
Today, I am also sharing an old news from Focus Weekly Issue 17, on the 40 CEOs under 40 in 2013. (Which, a majority of them are exceeding the range this year, LOL). Pardon my procrastination. As listed in the table below:

Based on the list, most of them are successors, inheriting and continuing to run those mega companies from their parents. Yes, this is situation can be related to the Chinese Proverb - 前人种树,后人乘凉. This just means that their parents built a very strong foundation for their children's future. But, I genuinely believe that the new generation is capable in managing those companies with quite a different mindset from the older generation. Anyhow, there are several CEOs worked their way up to where they are. In a nutshell, if you are truly capable, nothing can stop you from achieving your goals in life! For the girls out there, this can be your chance to find a rich and promising husband. hahahahahahaha!!!!! Gosh, I too envy them (successor) because they are lucky to save 10++ years in working force to be successful.
The exquisite 2-pound sterling designs are so meaningful, to record important events including the 2012 London Olympic. Last note, I recognised the important of money since I was so young. To say that I am money-minded, I think saving for better would be more suitable to describe me. I used to be very stingy, saving every cents in ringgit. Over the years, I still practice my saving habits but I am more willing to spend on something practical. Yes, we really earn money to spend it because saving every penny without a proper usage will be a waste (^^). hahahahaha, not asking you to waste the money!
My advice is: Don't spend what you don't have and record your spending to understand the cash flow.
