Everything Total Recalled From 1990 to 2012 !

As a crazy movie dweller, I had watched numerous movies since I started laying my eyes on the television screen  Perhaps, I am the era of TV-baby. While nowadays, the children are more to the era of Apple-baby.  Anyhow, I watched Total Recall (2012) (TR2012) in the cinema. After triggering my curiosity button, I ended up downloading the "mature and raw" version of Total Recall (1990) (TR1990) which was made about 22 years ago (@@), almost same age as me!!!!!~

Storyline
Let's talk about the storyline. Well if they didn't tell me that it was a remake of TR1990, I think that TR2012 will definitely fare better. Despite the change in the story, TR1990 is about outer space and Mars while TR2012 is about Earth of 2 different ends, the development is still the same. Basically, it is about a guy whose memory is replaced. Until one day, he went to a company called Total Rekall, which eventually reminded him of his past. TR1990 incorporated a lot of interesting characters from Alien, Mutants.. while TR2012 changed them into robotic soldiers.

Verdict: TR1990's story was more intriguing; TR2012 gives a fresh new perspective overall. Therefore, if we don;t compare, both individuals are quite well in term of action.

Characters
Main actors - Colin Farrell and Arnold Schwarzenegger were playing totally similar characters. TR2012 gave a visual superior in action; TR1990 was totally 18PL with blood-shed scene of extreme violence including body explosion, gruesome technology. In this case, I prefer the later one (18PL) while TR2012 is more to (PG13)...hahahaha, no doubt Colin Farrell is kinda hot and sexy in this movie; but, to be truthful, Arnold's acting was so much better than Colin Farrell (@@) ~ Surprised!!!

Verdict: Arnold's performance was exceptional great; Colin needed to show more emotional struggle ~

Main Actress  - Kate Beckinsale and Sharon Stone were playing the pure evil wives in this case. But, the twist was that Kate Beck was the main antagonist who kept chasing; But, Sharon Stone sadly was the supportive role in this case; however, her performance was stunning as well.

Verdict: Kate Beckinsale is my goddess; her acting was terrific as she was totally showing us the Underworld Killer style. Sharon Stone was amazing as well and her action moves were not outdated at all!!!!~

Overall, if looking at them not as the remake and original, both movies are quite okay as they are unique in the storyline. However, looking them otherwise, TR1990 was actually better than TR2012 in my humble opinion. So, what do you think???? Do you recall what you watch (^^)??? Here is the link by some youtube user comparing both versions, quite interesting too (^^)

Win, Won, Win Little Prizes

It had really been a while since I have won anything at all. Due to dreadful dealines and schedule, I totally missed out a lot prizes for 2011 and 2012. However, little lady of the luck was still on side. I won some little prizes that made my day a happier day (^^)

Photobucket
Despite this magazine won was a bit irrelevant to a guy, I find it quite useful in obtaining my "beauty" along with my mom and sis (^^) Quite common for metrosexual-era guys , right? (^^)....`~

Photobucket
Not just that, there were even some little items like pens, dog-wire wrapper, little cushion and another pen..Yup, really no need to buy pens because mostly I won pens (><) So scary ~ It is like endless supplies of pens and the pens I bought last time still got supply.......

Photobucket
Another win was quite some time ago for the movie Water for Elephant~ It was quite spectacular but I really disliked Robert Pattison; should have find another more prominent actor ~ Anyhow, the T-shirt is really awesome (^^) along with the chinese hand-fan..(^^). But, really need to lose 10 kg in 10 days to fit in this T-shirt anymore (><)

The Past of Batman and The Incepted Dark Knight

With the buzz going with Dark Knight (Batman), of course, as a movie fan, I went to catch the Dark Knight Rises ASAP. Anyhow, the news of shooting during the premier in US were horrible; that's why there should be a ban on the open-selling of weaponry !!!!!! ~~~ Back to the movie, the trilogy of batman by Christopher Nolan was phenomenal. Casting Christian Bale as batman, this decision was brilliant. He was really consistent in his performance. While everybody loves Ledger's performance as Joker in the 2nd installment, I thought it was okay only as compared to the story development of Joker in the original movie of Batman. To me, the 3rd movie was the best amongst the 3 movies of Dark Knight. However, the 2nd installment by Tim Burton was amazing too with a darker and crazier storyline. Thus, I have made a summary for the past and present of Batman movie so far. (^^)

After the tabulation and downloading of old movies, I finally came up with this chart to summarise all the Batman movies. So far, Batman Returns (1992) still captures my heart all thanks to Penguin's gross yet authentic acting and Catwoman's amazing transformation and wildness. While the 1st movie 1989, Jack Nicholson's Joker still remained the best (in my humble opinion).

The following batman movies of Batman forever, Batman and Robin had declined in its predecessor's achievement. They had become more cartoon-y; but, they weren't that bad at all. However, the Dark Knight trilogy stole the attention of all movies. Of course, the reasons were obvious. (1) More amazing graphic and stunts (2) Better story development (3) More mature and less crazy acting.....

Talking about Dark Knight Rises, this is my most fav in all 3 movies because it is quite a good ending. While the twisted plot may be the reason, the casts did quite a good job too. Therefore, I called this movie the INCEPTED DARK KNIGHT. Reason? A lot of the casts came from Inception ----- Marion Cotillard (Miranda); Joseph Gordon Levitt (Blake); Tom Hardy (Bane)......

Anyway, the cast was awesome. While Bane did most actions and talking, I still think that the fight between him and Batman was a bit "heavy". Another debate of the movie was that WHO IS THE BETTER CAT WOMAN? I think Anne Hathaway did a good job as catwoman. But, Michelle Pheiffer will always be a classic because the character and action were as of in the comics with whip and claws!!! While Anne's catwoman was more modern-like with her own personality.

The Spiderman of New Era

I still vividly remembered the original movie of spiderman 1 being released 2002. I just started my secondary school and now, I am a graduate from a university. It is like unbelievable how 10 years just gone by. That time, all of us in our class of 42 students were crazy over Spiderman because we had seen it in comics and cartoon; but, never in real human-acting.

It was one of the movies that those days, I would spend my precious pocket money to watch in the cinema. Obviously, after viewing the movie, it inspired me deeply as a human being and as a dreamer. It somehow told me that nothing is impossible. Tobey Maguire (Peter Parker) acted as a timid student with very good results. One day, he was bitten; thus, he obtained superpower which not only enhanced him physically, it made him a stronger person. The development of this Peter Parker was so much stronger than the new Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield). While a lot of friends prefer the new 1, I still have heart for the old 1 because the old 1 just taught us that even you are small on the outside, you can still be strong if you want to. Another point is that Aunt May in the old movie is far better in term of the feeling.  The Amazing Spiderman is of course far more handsome and cuter. But, in the movie, he didn't project the development from weak to strong intensely. Perhaps, the director wanted to focus more on his past which the old movie didn't highlight at all. This is definitely a plus point (^^)

Another twist in the new spiderman is that his love interest is Gwen Stacy, not Mary-Jane (><). Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy) was great in the movie. She embodied the character quite well. Of course, in spiderman 3, there was also Gwen Stacy who wasn't the main character. Funny, they have similar appearances. Hahahah! The Gwen-Stacy-Look (^^). Anyhow, without knowing the sequel development, I still prefer to have Mary-Jane as the neighbour (><). Kristen Dunst did an amazing job as Mary-Jane. Her life is just as difficult as Peter Parker. But, she made it to Broadway! Another inspiring moment in this classic.

While both spiderman movies are in different directions, I still prefer the old 1. How about you?! Have you watch and compare? Peter Parker and Mary-Jane, both are the legend of spiderman; it is hardly possible to break this image. But, I still believe the new spiderman has more to offer. Hope a better sequel soon (^^)!!!

I Got Cheryl Cole Face

Have you heard of Cheryl Cole? I didn't hear of her until last year which her song "Fight for This Love" was non-stop playing in the TV and radio. She was also voted as one of the most beautiful women in the world. Anyhow, I totally forgot what I joined last year (2011). But, one fine evening, my mom called and said that I got Cheryl Cole Face!!!! Hahaha, my parents were listening to her CD as well.

Photobucket
Her cover is so nice! There are 3 songs which I love inside this album. She is quite talented. There are crazy news on her thanks to Simon Cowell. She has her career thanks to that British guy~

Tron Legacy: A Present Hidden behind Memories

I still remembered about 10 years ago, I watched Tron - the 1st movie. At that time, fascination filled within me because it was a movie really ahead of time with cool actions and effects. Of course, compared to the movie nowadays, the effects that time were really not that impressive. However, the storyline and imagination during that time was extremely good!

Then, until now, the sequel: Tron Legacy finally came out. Yes, it was already 2 years ago@@Omg, how time flew! Seriously! Anyhow, I was clearing out some stuffs. Then I found these!
Photobucket
Oh yes, I won some goodies online (^^) Now, I am using them happily (^^) My fav is still the shining mug coaster. How much good memories last time! Despite feeling emo these days, looking through these old stuffs is like a breath of fresh air ....

The Chronicle of Unexpected Life

It was plain funny! So, I accidentally got a free GSC gift ticket. So, I decided on the mist of going to my hometown again; I would stopped by at the Midvalley for a little detour for movie. It was either between Underworld or War Horse.

Unexpectedly, the gift ticket was only valid for normal screening@@ Thus, that time, Underworld was around 4pm (a bit late) and War Horse (2D)....Then, I was by the staff there that my gift could not redeem 2D movie. I was and am still puzzled what is the difference between 2D, 3D, and normal screening! ??? Can any body tell me?

Anyhow, unexpectedly, I had chosen to watch . Despite positive review of the movie, it wasn't my taste at all. It was filming in such that similar to and . The idea and the plot of the movie is really interesting. But, maybe at the end, they can use back the non-video style to film the movie!Or else,  it would be awesome !!!!!

This is the bad guy(Dane DeHaan)! No really, the good thing about this movie is that it bravely shows the truth of an abusive family in which it often leads to unhealthy mental development of the children. I wouldn't recommend people who are too young to watch this because it did somehow gives a bad lesson even he suffers at the end.

Here are the 3 guys who accidentally become super humans! I still think that the movie still didn't explain clearly on what happens. The left guy (Alex Russell) is apparently the good guy who is related the bad guy. The whole movie basically used all new actors!

After the movie, I ran back to my hometown again!(^^)! Oh my god!!!! It took me a freaking 5 hours to reach Ipoh at around 12.30am!!!!!!!! It was really unexpected! There was apparently a car accident there. Yup, or else, it would just be normal trip!!!!~~~

Thanks Nuffnang for The Social Network!

Wow, 4 movies in a row! Yes, my luck is back?! Previously, I got tickets for  Sammy's Adventures, Adele: Rise of Mummy, and Megamind! This time, thanks for Nuffnang for selecting me to be one of 75 lucky winners for The Social Network special screening @ Midvalley on 22 Nov!~ I really never thought that my slogan would win woh! So surprised!

Anyway, on that day, I went to Midvalley all by myself. It was really scary leh! When I reached there, I went shopping in Jusco. Therefore, I was a bit late when collecting the tickets. It was really tiring! I actually saw a lot of familiar faces there like Robb, Timothy?, Kenwooi and etc. Because of my shyness and tiredness, I didn't really greet or whatsoever since I only knew them via blogging(^^)! I just went in and enjoyed the 2-hour movie!

Adapted from Nuffnang blogging kit:
Genre : Drama, Comedy
On a fall night in 2003, Harvard undergrad and computer programming genius Mark Zuckerberg sits down at his computer and heatedly begins working on a new idea.  In a fury of blogging and programming, what begins in his dorm room soon becomes a global social network and a revolution in communication. A mere six years and 500 million friends later, Mark Zuckerberg is the youngest billionaire in history... but for this entrepreneur, success leads to both personal and legal complications.  From director David Fincher and screenwriter Aaron Sorkin comes The Social Network, a film that proves you don't get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies.  The film is produced by Scott Rudin, Dana Brunetti, Michael De Luca, and Ceán Chaffin and based on the book "The Accidental Billionaires" by Ben Mezrich.
Starring: Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, and Justin Timberlake
Directed by: David Fincher (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Fight Club)

Afterthoughts of The Social Network (Facebook)

To be honest, this is really one of the movies of the year! At 19, Mark Zuckerberg, a student in Harvard U (Omg, my favourite U) created TheFacebook. Just like that, he become one of the youngest billionaire in the world. Isn't that a bit easy ?! Not really, in this movie, it revealed some ugly truths. It examines the the nature of human in such a way that impacts its viewers deeply.

Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg) in the movie was really annoying, sarcastic, childish and defensive (the ingredients for a genius , I guess). In truth, he basically built facebook all by himself but, with some help his friends. Yet, when he started to gain success, he faced all the accusations. Even his best friend, Eduardo (Andrew Garfield) was suing him along with the Winklevoss Twins (Armie Hammer) in 2 different cases.

After watching the movie, I didn't really sympatised his situation. He really deserved it (hahahaha). For Eduardo, he did invest in the beginning. The way Mark treated him was rather cruel. For the twins, he agreed to help them in the beginning. He should reject after the 2nd week?! Oh well, he is loaded, just paid them to settle the cases. ( Note: all thoughts were from the movies itself, I don't really know the case that thoroughly, don't sue me~~~)

The supporting casts all were really handsome woh!!!! All are tall and look like model (Andrew Garfield and Armie Hammer). But, they were not overshadowed by their looks. Andrew was super emotional-strained in the movie, he really touched me^^. Armie was great in acting the twins, they look alike, but act differently(^^)!

Again, thanks Nuffnang for the great movie
Rating: 8.9/10
