Restaurant Ipoh 新怡保饭店 @ Ipoh

Even though Ipoh is publicly known as the "Retirement Town", it still develops like hot cake as there are more and more tourists coming here to visit. Anyway, the most common phenomena in Ipoh is that the youngsters will either go to KL or overseas to study or to work, leaving their senior parents at home. You might think that they will be bored to death without their children by their sides; but, you are so wrong! In fact, most of them are more adventurous in further exploring Ipoh for good food. And, they are getting pickier by the day.

The NEW IPOH Restaurant was discovered by my parents during their past time. It is quite a popular restaurant in town especially for family customer. It is a typically Chinese restaurant for ordering dishes!
Eversince I am older, I prefer to eat simpler food - less fried, more fiber. Perhaps, in this age, I should also start to take care of my health so that in the future, medical bills won't that enormous. For the dish above, it is the steam tofu with fried shrimps on top (^^) Simple yet yummy!

As for those with bad tummy/ digestive problem, eating more vegetables most probably will help. Yup, we should start to eat more vegetables since young age! Another simple dish here - clear fried vegetable (pardon my direct translation)..hahahahaah

Lastly, since my parents still adore some meat here, we ordered the yum sandwiched pork (Waaa, my translation getting better or worse??!!!@@). Anyway, the portion wasn't too large so that we won't overfed ourselves. Hahahaha!

Overalll, New Restaurant offered a simple dinner to the locals. You can always try it out as it is just located opposite the Ipoh Pet Center. Oh no, tomorrow I am going to KL already. Sign, there goes my one month holiday (><)!!!!!!!

Clan Dim Sum Restaurant 大家城點心茶樓 @ Sri Petaling

This scheduled post is intended for those who wake up early in the morning and feel hungry! Why?! Because it is dim sum time. Unexpectedly, I am covering KL/ PJ dim sum instead of the ultra famous Ipoh dim sum; however, don't expect less (^^)

Clan Dim Sum Restaurant OR 大家城點心茶樓 is located at Sri Petaling.

Like typical any other dim sum, they also have the almost the identical choices. For example, you can definitely find xiao mai, egg tart, fried yum, fishballs etc as follow: (To me, the taste is just typical; but, I compliment the egg tart, worth to try also)

Of course, as a foodie blogger for quite some year, I am definitely looking for that special dish in this restaurant~ Can you give a guess??!!! Hahahaha, the answer is the famous 鸡窝包 (Gai Wo Bao ) or direct translation Chicken Hive Bun??? Pardon my translation. Well, what is this dish about?! It is like a combination of very slight char siew taste, nuo mi gai (glutinous rice chicken) and typical bun ----- Wala, this combination created 鸡窝包.

Have a good try! And, the address is as follow:
140, Jalan Radin Anum 1,
Taman Seri Petaling,
Sri Petaling,
57000 Kuala Lumpur

Nexus 4, My New Babe (^^)

Yes, with much considerations, I have made a choice!
Yes, with much surprises, I have chosen NEXUS 4 over Iphone and S3 (back then).
Hahaha, not because I want to be special or anything, it is just because DIGI that time got promotion!
And, just like that, I decided took the PROMO68 with 5Gb data!

Right after my purchase, Nexus 4 (by Google) and (manufactured by LG) updated by itself to Andriod Jelly Bean 4.2.2. Yup, super duper cool! Because this is my 1st full smart phone! Actually, I was using a semi-smart phone Nokia 5730. It served my well for this 3 years!!!!

Here are the outcome of Nexus 4's camera! How are they? Nice?! Yup, with this price and specification, I am satisfied with this gorgeous phone !!!!

The only weaknesses are the short-battery life and overheating when the 3G is on! However, which phone is not energy consuming nowadays~

Yes, I go NEXUS. How about you!(^^)

5 Meals 1 Day Edition (5)

At last!!!!!!!!!!!!! The end meal of the 5 Meals 1 Day Edition!!!!! Also known as 5 Meals 1 Day Edition (5).   For the final dinner, we went to Yulek Garden @ Cheras to try some Thai delicacies, Awet Thai Cafe!

For people who really know me, I am totally not a spicy person! Means, I don't stand spicy food! Anyway, for the purpose of the purpose, I opened my mind (literally) to accept the challenge. To my surprise, it was not too spicy and enjoyable too!!!

The Fried Kang Kung truly stole my heart!!! The Thai-Style Salad was quite nice too (^^) Yup, but, beware of the chili padi! The Coconut Soup was quite ok, a little bit spicy!!! Lastly, the Roast Pork (Chu Jing) was superb, hahahahah~~~!

Of course, there were the typical Red and Green Curry! I was quite surprise they tasted quite okay! But, I took a bit due to the spiciness.  Of course the meal wasn't completed with nice Thai-Style Fish! The Pandan  Leaf Tea was quite enjoyable too as it was totally good for cooling down the hotness of the food! Overall rating is 9/10. Totally worth the time and stomach regardless of the traffic jam there (^^)

There you have it !!!!! The full series of the 5 Meals 1 Day Edition (^^). Below is the complete list of the links for the whole journey! Enjoy the posts and embark on your own journey in venturing into foodie world.

5 Meals 1 Day Edition (4)

Continuing the foodie track, the next stop was Levain!!! I believe that this bakery is really famous and well-known to all! Yup, another nice place for dessert and lunch! Location of this amazing bakery is at a secluded   Jalan Delima! Totally have no idea where is it, I was only the passenger....hahahahaha~

Obviously, I think the decor in that place really plays an important role in attracting customers! With nice setting at the exterior, the interior design completes the total package with interesting paintings, display items, etc.

When you enter the bakery, it is practically filled with breads~~~ Yup, all sort of breads, you name it, you will get it (mostly). I really lost track of the name of the breads!

Of course, apart from breads, Levain also offers other type of food! Their spaghetti was exceptionally tasty! Totally in love with the seafood spaghetti on the right!

The breads were not only well-baked, they were so nice to look it until you would feel "What a waste to just   eat it"! Hahahahaa!!!

Every month, they would introduce some new cakes/ breads. Yup,continual improvement, to be creative....
Maybe, that's is why this bakery is so successful!!!! Overall rating: 9/10.

Private Annual Fine Dining @ Westin Hotel

In the midst of Chinese New Year, I truly felt the festive season from head to toe. It is just that perhaps because of the older age, I think I am losing the festive touch.hahahahaha~ sound so old ^^ Anyway, Happy Chinese New Year again!

This time around, I am gonna to share a old piece of story during my uni days (Actually, just last year) So, as a chemical engineering class of 2012, we decided to throw ourselves a private annual dinner which costed us a leg RM200++. It was held at the Westin Hotel! Yup, high class-nya.hahahahaha! A final enjoyment before our FYP ends...

As usual, I spent a lot on the clothing which was not satisfactory at all because apparently, guys formal wears are so much more expensive than girls' dress! I arrived Westin Hotel after fetching two friends.

As you can see, the setup was truly astonishing! Yup, totally classy and nice! The opposite of the room was actually Pavillion! We could see the building so clearly! The menu was simply unique! Despite the taste might  be suitable to all, I was having a fun time eating them (since so expensive, hahahaha).

The usual starter would be bread and butter! There were several type of bread available. My fav was the 2nd (^^). Then, came the 2nd dish which was the Seared Tuna and Scallops with Ruby Red Grapefruit and Orange Dressing! The taste was rather unique unlike anything I tasted before; but the sweetness from the Grapefruit actually spoilt a bit of the enjoyment. However, overall, it was quite nice!

The main course was Roast Chicken Breast Filled with Wild Mushrooms. The taste was fine but the meat was overcooked and the mushrooms were too dry. It was a disappointing despite of its well-decor appearance. Thankgoodness, its dessert saved the day - Vanilla Panna Cotta, Raspberry Compote and Ginger Crumble!  Hahaha, despite the price, the portion was really a bit small~ I came to a conclusion that Fine Dinner = Fine Particle!!!ahahahaha

Of course, the day was a day to be remembered as it was not just about food! It was the celebration of our 4 years hardship that was going to bear fruits (^^) Yes!

How are you all?
Nottingham Malaysia MEng of Chemical Engineering 2012 (^^)?

Wish you all a Happy Chinese New Year! Have a great career and future (^^)!!!

The Ever-Moving Chop Yong Restaurant

Procrastination, a thief of time? Yes, indeed, I have been a strong procrastinator since the time I know myself. Hahaha, anyhow, Chop Yong Restaurant, an ever-on-the-move restaurant moved for the 3rd time. The photos below was taken in the 2nd move.

Photobucket
It was located in the wet market area. Sadly, with such frequently relocation, it would be difficult to build up the customer list. Oh well, I am not the expert here.

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Despite not a big fan of dragonfruit, I have fondness towards its juice(^^)~ The other 1 is the "sally" juice with sour prunes. (Can anybody tell me the real name of "Sally"?) The simple corn was quite nice 2!

Photobucket
A simple meal for 4! Taufu, vegetable, ginger chicken and Thai fried chicken. Overall, the taste of the dishes were really home-like. The price was quite reasonable!

The only problem is that you have to find its current location!!!! Really like the Moving Castle.!!! hahahaha~

Pumpkin Garden Steamboat (淋園) @ Cheras

Photobucket
Wow, I just can't believe this~ Another foodie post! I am getting so fatttttt~ Oh well, live to eat, I guess? This time around, this restaurant is quite famous with its pumpkin-soup-base steamboat ---- It is known as Pumpkin Garden Steamboat or 淋園.

It is just so happened that my friend, PS who had been living for this area for so long took us there for her birthday celebration dinner after the breakfast and lunch. Yup, ain't I full~
Photobucket
This was the picture of the famous pumpkin soup base steamboat!! So cool, right! It would be healthier to have this too!

Photobucket
As we were quite full that day, we just ordered a few paxes only which was less than actual no. of people. It was just right portion! Of course, the meal order included some nice fishballs, gao zi, toufu, etc.

To top up, we also had some nice and famous fried noodles. I absolutely adored the fried mantou! It was crunchy and niceeee (^^)

Murni @ USJ9

Photobucket

Working life is so far so good ~ Due to no more internet connection at my KL home, I really can't update my bloggie as frequent as I used to. So many had happened in just few months, perhaps, I shall tell you the story next year??? Hahaha, because my bloggie currently is a place with old junk memory~  Funny as it is, it is really a nice place for me to find back my naiveness and passions (^^). This time around, I am going to post another foodie post; yes, basically My Little World should be renamed as My Foodie World

This outlet was located at USJ9 area!~ It was roughly a year ago during my summer break. It was the 1st time for me to take a van along with my teammates to send off our masterpieces. It was not easy!!!! ~ After that, me, yellow and KC just enjoyed the celebration of the ending. The restaurant was quite spacious!
Photobucket

Photobucket

The drinks were interesting! Each of them had interesting name. For the 1st one, it was I MISS YOU!!! Yes, so funny. For the milo, it is not just any Milo; it was named MILO BOMB!!!

Photobucket
The above was Napoleon Chicken! Yup, quite an interesting dish! But, it was not that good for people who are having sore throat. Then, it was the Roti Hawaii with nice mayo decor; a bit fattening. Overall, the restaurant was quite okay. I am not a big Mamak fan; so, I don't have strong liking. Nonetheless, it is still worth a try (^^)

Mysterious Fish Valley Semenyih

Photobucket
Another hidden jewel in Semenyih! Yup, 5 years over there wasn't wasted at all! At least, I discovered some great food there (^^) This restaurant located in a super secluded area; however, with the advanced of map tech, I am sure you all can definitely locate it~

Photobucket
The steamed egg was excellent, just nice! The claypot chicken was well-cooked and not too dry! As for the curry fish, it was quite okay since I am not a curry person, it can satisfy me! However, the salt-baked fish was a bit of letdown! According to my friend, it depends! The 1st time she had was ultra nice!

Photobucket
Then, the feast didn't just stopped there. The fried pork was extremely nice despite a bit fatty (><) Good to have vegetable in the menu as there were too many meat in the dishes. I would rated 5/5 for the fried sotong with salted egg !!!! Yes, it was simply amazing to the taste bud! The ubi pork was really a combination of food art. Of course, the price was above average; however, it was quite a nice feast (^^)

Drealand Claypot 同煲同捞 @ Semenyih ~

Photobucket
Semenyih, was a place where I stayed for 5 years actually. It was such a secluded area back then. Until now, it is at its peak of development thanks to University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus. As an alumni, it is good for me to introduce some places for nice food.

PhotobucketPhotobucket
The left one is the pumpkin pork ribs and the right one is the eggplant with meat pieces..Hahahaa, horrible translation. Anyhow, the taste of both dishes were quite okay. Not too flavoured for my taste!

PhotobucketPhotobucket
The toufu with soy sauce was awesome. Not too oily too! The claypot soup was fine to me~ Despite a bit plain for my taste, however, for a less oily day, it is a pick of my day. (^^)

Only after I leave this place, I started to post about Semenyih. But, it is good. Because, while blogging about this places, occasionally it reminded me of the good old days. I didn't go to overseas to study at all; however, just like any other students, my life was filled with colourful moments along with true companions (^^)

Zanmai SuShi @ The Garden (^^)

Photobucket

Located at a luxurious premise, Sushi Zanmai is totally easy to find. Yes, it is just next to Midvalley, The Garden! That day, my friends and I went there on normal day; surprisingly, we needed to queue up (@@)~ Yes, it was that popular!

Photobucket
Finally seated, the ambient was nice despite the crowd. The decor was quite artistic too with Japanese style.

Photobucket

I ordered the most economic chicken Don, not really. hahaha~ Of course, it was accompanied by the famous steam-egg (Don;t know in Japanese) The green tea was bottomless yet (^^)

Photobucket
Here was what my friend ordered. The cold mee, 1st time, I tried it. It was really cold @@ ~ Not really that suitable for old people who prefer warm food. Nonetheless, it was worth a try ~

PhotobucketPhotobucket
Since we were in a Sushi store, it would be quite odd not to order some sushi!~ Yes, they were all awesome! I totally like the california roll, it was really a fulfilling day for me` (^^)
