Looking Back 2009 and Welcoming 2010

Seriously, time seems to fly like the speed of light. A couple of years ago, time was stagnant to me. Today, in my 20, I realised that if I keep on wasting time, eventually, there would be no time left. Anyway, this day is the final day of 2009. Like previous years, now is my study week. This is a post to look back my 2009! After reading Sinchew daily, I also want to do a look-back of significant events happen in my life!

January 2009
It was a month of examination, celebration and etc. Most of all, it was my 1st Cheque Out from Nuffnang! Yes, I love money($ $)..Hahaha~~~Apart from that, there were also other nice happenings in January like the Chinese New Year(^^), my birthday day! Oh gosh, it was indeed a month of celebrations.

Crazy Ticket, Cool Ticket and Sad Ticket

What are tickets? I just realised that after learning for so many years, I really don't know the exact definition of ticket! Haha, to be truthful, my English is really not that good(haiz, I really need to read more since I "fake fake" oso a uni student)! Anyway, according to the free dictionary(here), ticket is actually refer to " A paper slip or card indicating that its holder has paid for or is entitled to a specified service, right, or consideration". Well, actually, not all tickets need to be paid! I was lucky enough to snatch 3 sets of free tickets in 2 consecutive week.

Free Tickets
  • Accident at GSC Midvalley (13.10.09)
  • Law Abiding Citizen GSC Midvalley(20.10.09)
  • Inglorious Basterds Cathay Cinema(20.10.09)

Yes, if you notice, 2 movies were on the same date! At the end, I had chosen Law Abiding Citizen due to the location. Anyhow, I had 2 movies in 2 week. Let's talk about the movie "Accident" which was chosen to be shown in a movie award event.
Photobucket
Well, I labeled this movie to be crazy because the ending was simply crazy! Actually, the plot of the movie is quite interesting(To kill people by making it look like accident); however, as it progressed, it was somewhat bored and predictable and also kinda of off the theme of the movie. Haiz, the rating is as below:
Character: 6.5/10 [The cast was okay]
Story: 4/10 [ The beginning was interesting]
Effect: 3/10 [Not much effect]

Photobucket
Now, the next movie was the "Law Abiding Citizen"! Well, thanks to Nuffnang for the free tickets before premier! The movie was quite cool! It was very violent, but super cool to watch! I have to say that the storyline was way better than "Accident". The casts were Gerard Butler(300), Jamie Foxx(Dreamgirls), and also a very familiar face - Leslie Bibb(Popular). Yes, she was a cheerleader back in those days in Popular! For this movie, the rating is:

Character: 8/10 [The cast was quite strong]
Story: 7.5/10 [ Great from the beginning to the end]
Effect: 8/10 [very high tech the gadgets in the movie]
Not to forget that, Nuffnang also provides me the movie pics^^Thanks again!

Bought Ticket
  • Beyonce I am Concert 2009 (25 Oct 2009) - Postponed
Photobucket
Yes, I also realised that we can't win everything. So, my sis and I decided to buy Beyonce's concert tickets even though both of us are very stingy people! Yet, to our dismay, she decided to postpone the concert. Haiz, actually, I think that there is no problem with her coming to Malaysia to perform ooo. If there are problems, her MTV should be banned in TV. But, I still can watch her MTV on local tv networks. Haiz!!! Plus, it is our consumer right as well. If you think that her dressing is not appropriate due to religous matter, then, prohibit those who are bound by religion from attending her concert. Well, personally, I think she is a performer! That is her way of performing and you can't change that! Oh well, in the end, it took me half a day to return her tickets! Haizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz, Beyonce, please come back(><)

P.S: This summarises the 3 type of tickets in this post! Tata for now, it is time to continue my dreadful study life!!!!

My Warwick Avenue

- Duffy Lyrics

When I heard "Warwick Avenue", I had a sense of sadness. If this song was written by me, if I were Duffy, I would be all alone at that time when I wrote the song. I would be staring at my piano's keyboard, remembering the days when I was still at Warwick Avenue. It was a place that held many unforgettable memories of laughter, grief, and love.

However, happy moment did not last because I had to leave. I had no choice. I could not be living my life based on happy memory. I wanted to find true happiness. My loved one, I loved you deeply before. But, all the pains were just unbearable because I still love you! Now, I have chosen a new start. The first step was to leave Warwick Avenue and leave you behind. Because of you, I dropped countless tears in my heart. But, I would never shed a tear in front of you because I knew that I was strong.

The memories between us were sweet at first, but, it turned to constant arguments and fights. Finally, I knew that I had to let go. That was why I took a taxi and never looked back since then. It was the first time I cried because I finally had to leave the dreams and the memories we had together behind.Your words, your hair, your smell, your smile, your eyes, your lips, your love, ...would soon to be a memory. It was more painful than I imagined because there was still love between us. But, you did not love me like how I loved you. Did you?

Now, every time I pass by Warwick Avenue, the cut still hurts! But, I am free at last!

p.s: If I were Duffy, this is definitely how I felt when I wrote "Warwick Avenue"! This is my Warwick Avenue!

A Classic Will Last Forever{Whitney Houston}

One of the greatest singers of all time who captured and captivated audiences from all walks of life. One of the greatest legends of all time who amazed and enthralled people with her wonderful voice. She is more than just any average singers, she is the diva of her time even though now, she does not shine like she used to be. But, she is still a classical that will last forever, Whitney Houston. {Even though she was involved in a lot of scandals(><)} While people will only remember her amazing performance in "The Bodyguard" on "I Will Always Love You", I have other preference in the movie. It was not as great as "I Will Always Love You", but, it really touched the hearts of people too. The name of the song is "Run To You"{Yup, I think nobody did notice this song because it was overshadowed by "I Will Always Love You"}. Anyway, the song was great and emotional. She really did put heart and soul in this song. I think that during that time, she was on her peak of her career. However, after meeting his future-husband/ex-husband, Bobby Brown, everything was just amiss. {Chinese Saying: "Girls are afraid of marrying the wrong husband; Guys are afraid of working for the wrong job"something like this lah} So, girls must find a good husband. (^^)

I love this song a lot. It is very touching!!!!!!!!!!!! This is like a recommendation from me(^^)

Aiyo, this song no need to say lah, sure very best. But, a fact is that the original singer was not Whitney Houston{Surprised}, she was the country singer, Dolly Parton{Err, me not a country singer fan except for Shania Twain, Trisha Yearwood, and Carrie Underwood}

Finally, I heard that Whitney Houston is going to release a new album in this November{Finally} I just can't wait for it. There is also a sense of worry whether she will make it or not. Anyway, wish her all the best!!!! I will always support you!!!!

Xjion89's Moving Dishes + A Little Piano Sonata

Yesterday, my family and I went to KL for helping me to clean my room for my upcoming semester. {No pics this time, after decorate, will add them soon}.It was really a one-day trip. We reached there about 10.30 am and started to pack after collecting the keys from the owner. It was all about cleaning, washing, screaming, rubbing, ... Until around 1.30 pm, it was time for lunch. We went to MONG KOK CHAR CHAN TENG in South City Plaza. Well, before this, me and my sis went there to try. It was okay only, but, quite expensive. But, this time around, the food was very tasty and the price was also reasonable. We all were just full and happy after eating there. I think most probably because we ordered 3 sets of RM9.90 {excluding any taxes} set lunch which consists of a very big portion of main dish, a plate of fruits, a small bowl of soup, and even a glass teo-o-ice. Omg, it was worthed every cent. However, we even added another dish, the CB Cheese Tuna Rice{ Regretted because the portion was very big}.

Below are the few main focus of the meal:

This was not just any normal teh-o-ice. It was huge!!!

Ooo, the LOH SONG Soup was quite nice!

The main attraction of the day- CB Cheese Tuna Rice

Piano Sonata(^^)

Coming up now!!! A little Piano Sonata from me on My 1st Grade 8 Piece Part 1: Prelude and Fugue in A Flat. The original Composer was the great J.S Bach, a significant figure during his period.{His song is not easy to play due to the excessive non-stop fingering in his piece, it is all about harmony in both hands.}

Personally, I still think that I need more practice. But, what had been done could not be undone. Anyway, this piece is only the 1st part of my No.1 song which already took my 1.52 mins to play. It needed a lot of precision in tempo. Moreover, it also required a little staccato in quaver beats! Overall, the song was quite nice to play. One of most favourite(^^)

WALL-E (^0^) Loves Big Apple?

Yesterday was really a pleasant day. It was a little reunion with my secondary friends. They are long-time-no-see, Ziyang and soon-to-leave, Kokleong. Well, actually, the gathering was like the other gatherings we had.First, a movie followed by a little lunch. Then, a lot of catching up. Well as always, the new gossip King, Zy, knew all the latest juicy news. Actually, we had quite a splendid time together.

Well, the highlight of the gathering was, none other than, the movie we had watched. It was WALL-E. I was glad that we had watch it, it was just superb. Actually, I thought that it was going to be bored since there was not much dialogue involved. But, I was wrong, at the end, it really touched my heart. Well, I have to say this, this is better than Dark Knight!!!(If you are going to hate me, go ahead. I will still stick with my choice). The main reason is that it is not easy to make a robot humane. That was the main reason, in my opinion, it really outshined Dark Knight.

Now, imagine that you are the only person left on earth. You have nothing but some junks, more junks and a cockroach as a pet!?You worked alone because all you friends and colleagues just stopped. Well, this was the main story until the appearance of EVE - an angelic robot with extremely advanced gadgets. Will there be sparks between them?

Then, I also love the development of movie when WALL-E followed EVE to the place where the humans were currently staying. Everything was just right, the pace of the movie was very appropriate until you would not feel bored at all even there was rarely any dialogues in the movie. Apart from that, the movie was definitely very funny, unlike other movies, WALL-E used silent comedy to entertain people. Who have thought that WALL-E(Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-class) can be that funny and that entertaining? Will WALL-E impress EVE, the sassy one with astonishing weaponry (Extra-terrestrial Vegetation Evaluator)? All the questions will be answered when you watch the movie!!!!! Almost forgot, in the movie, they used a very, very classical movie's songs. Well, I think that this was brilliant to instill an oldies melody in a modern-futuristic movie!!!! Now, I just love the song very much!

Anyway, does WALL-E love Big Apple? Well, I know that he loves iPod. As for Big Apple, I think that errrr, right now, I can't answer this. But, for me, Big Apple donuts were simply exquisite!!!
PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Hahaha, finally, I got to taste the Big Apple donuts!!!!!(Only can afford 6 pieces for RM11.50, after watching movie, no more money!)Okey, don't mind me, if you want to find out more about WALL-E, you can use this widget(Isn't this cool!) At its website, omg, you can do just about anything, you can even create your own robot!!!!!!! Faster check it out!

Piano Concerto - Sassy Canon in C Variation

Actually, I always have heart for music. Even when I was a little child, I enjoy singing in the shower(Well, most people sing in their shower, I guess or do they?) Maybe they would not admit it. Anyway, my music side begins to develop when I was about 6 or 7-year-old. I learned piano along with my siblings. However, back then, I was not that consistent;therefore, just after months of learning, I abandoned it.

Then, when I was in my secondary, the passion was back again when I watched the Korean movie "My Sassy Girl" and Japanese drama "Long Vacation". It was just mesmerizing when they played the piano. Then, I decided to learn piano when I was in Form 1 and there was no turning back. In certain moment, I did try to learn other instruments; but, they are not really my type(Omg, I am like talking again relationship). I really did try, yup, I was a non-active member in Brass Band for 2-3 years, changing from section to section, instrument to instrument,...(Exaggerating again). At the end, piano has my heart again.

In about 10 days, I am going to have my practical test. Well, I am extremely nervous. This is mainly because I think that I did not practice enough after attending class in my Uni(My Uni's piano, not a real piano, an electrical piano, really really....thumb down). After that, I think I start to deteriorate. Oh well, no use crying now. I have to practice very hard these days. In least than 10 days, I have to fix my three pieces, annoying scales(especially 6th apart), aural, sight-reading...I think that is about it. Hopefully, I will pass....(My expectation is not high, okey, just pass....enough...pray)

Okey, put that aside. Today, I finally have the courage to post one of my favourite pieces here, which I played personally(Can see my not-that-nice fingers) Well, I know that it is not perfect. But, I really like it - Canon in C variation from "My Sassy Girl". So, hopefully you all will like it, if you want to criticize it, go ahead, bring it on!!! hehe, really! Because personally, I think that my fingers are rusted. This is the only song I memorize because it really means a lot to me. Yup, this time no exaggeration because after watching this movie, I hope that I will be in a relationship with a girl with long, dark, straight hair who knows how to play this song as well. (Omg, I am making this into a post looking for relationship, nope, again, I believe in love in first sight[how impractical]) Okey, crapping a lot, I better shut up and you all enjoy!!!!!!

P.S: Do you see the NIKE ad down there? very cool leh!!!!I really like this ad.
P.S2:For video uploading, youtube is still the best.Blogger video really needs improvement!
P.S3: Sorry for so many P.Ss , the video was taken with my Nokia 5300, not a video cam.

Pushing What? Daisies.....

I have always dreamed of possessing superpowers. I wish I could fly, throw fire ball, control thoughts, be invisible, have the speeding of lightning,... That is an endless list of my wishes. However, what if you were given a power of a touch, not just any touch, a touch of living and death. That is what the new, bizarre, amazing, breathtaking drama-"Pushing Daisies" talks about.

The drama starts when the main actor-Ned, discovers that he can bring dead people, animals, plants alive with just one touch. When he discovers his ability, he feels amazed. But, unbeknown to the consequences of using his power, he causes another death of another equivalent living things. There is a cost for using his power. (This reminds me of the anime-"Fullmetal Alchemist"). His power works on a equivalent trade, if he brings alive a person, another person has to die. Therefore, when he touches a dead person, that person will stay alive unless the second touch is applied. That is why he has the touch of living and death. He brings alive a person with the first touch, and kills the person forever with second touch. Apart from that, there is also a limit to his power, if he brought a dead person alive more that 1 minute, another living person would have to fill the dead person's place.

The storyline becomes more interesting when he brings alive his first and true love, "Chuck" a.k.a Charlotte. When Chuck and Emerson, they forms a detective group which Ned will bring alive the dead to get the information he needs to solve the case. Basically, this is what the drama is all about.

As you can see from the picture above, there is a group of interesting casts.
(scroll down for more info, technical problem)(^^)(Please forgive!)

1) Ned
Played by Pace Lee: He really portraits the character well in a humorous way. Apart from that he also shows the sensitive side of a guy vividly. He loves his dog and Chuck, but, he can't touch them. What he can do is to feel the love from within. He just captures that feel very well.

2) Chuck a.k.a Charlotte
Played by Anna Friel: She is just dazzling in the drama even though her manly nickname-Chuck. She is charming and died as a lonely traveler. But, she meets the man she loves with all this years and he brought her to life again. Most of all, she is expressive and interesting. She can speak I-don't-know how many languages. Her smile can kill a person and all the clothes in the show are amazingly colourful. She just gives me a witchy feel in the show.

3)Olive
Played by Kristin Chenoweth. She is madly in love with Ned. But, Ned has his heart for another person, you know who. But, she does not give up. She is going to fight till the end even though she loses the battles since day one. By the way , she can really sing.
4)Emerson
Played by Chi McBride. He is a little greedy but, loves to knit. Weird, but, amusing!!!
5)Narrator
Voiced by Jim Dale. He always reminds people how many years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, seconds, they live. Well, roughly, I am (19 years old, 7 months, 1 week, 1 day, 8 hours, 40 mins, 40 secs) , sitting in front of the computer, writing this post.

With all the information that I am giving, you know that I am crazy of "Pushing Daisies". I love it because it is just a simple love story with a really unexpected twist. The story of each episode is also very unique in its own way, just giving the feel of real fairytale.

I love the narrator of the show, giving me a sense of exquisite story-telling skills. In "Pushing Daisies", you can find true love. Even though they can't touch, they are love each other. That is true love. After watching the show, there is a sense of sweetness of love...................I don't why but, maybe the colour of the show just gives everybody a new fresh life. I feel every single ingredient in the show - love, hate, desperate,...

P.S: The theme song is very niceeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! But, I can't find it. So, anybody knows where to find it. Please tell me!(^^)

Here are the few moments that I love about this show:

When Will I See Your Face Again and Again

When you meet someone who is special, I am sure that you will remember his or her face. Then, you will keep on thinking of that special face days and nights. Even when you are sleeping, you also think of that face. But, what is so bizarre is that you may or may not know the name of that memorable face.

That is what so special with such amazing encounter. Well, to be honest, I had once or twice of these kind of encounter. But, I know that sometimes it is not realistic. What can I do? I am just a normal person. As time goes by, you will start to forget. This is a new start again. But, before that, you will wonder when will you see that face again. And if luck is on your side, or it is destined for both of you meet again, I am sure that it would be more than an encounter, it might be fate or (he or she just want to dupe you.haha, I AM NOT JOKING. So, be careful. )

Sometimes, maybe , fantasy is just the right thing for us. In reality, nothing is what it seems. But, the lovely song by Jamie Scott and The Town gives me a moment of fantasy. So, enjoy it............I am loving it (the song is just simply amazing.....)
